From
the stand in Parliament the Deputy Minister of Labor Vasilis Kegeroglou
hinted at the government’s intention to bring changes to the
legislation regarding mass layoffs. The Deputy Minister stated that the
current legislative framework is outdated and that real protection is
only available when the market and economy function under normal
circumstances.

stand in Parlamento il vice ministro del Lavoro Vasilis Kegeroglou
ha accennato all'intenzione del governo di portare modifiche alla
legislazione in materia di licenziamenti di massa . Il
Vice Ministro ha affermato che l'attuale quadro legislativo è obsoleto e
che la vera protezione è disponibile solo quando il mercato e l'economia funzionano in circostanze normali .
The discussion in Parliament was prompted by SYRIZA MP
Maria Bolari, who referred to European Commissioner Rehn’s comments
about removing limitations currently in place which regulate mass
dismissals. Mr. Kagioglou explained that the International
Labor Office will soon submit a study so that the government can
consider what changes are necessary.

discussione in Parlamento è stata richiesta da Syriza MP Maria Bolari ,
che ha fatto riferimento alle osservazioni del Commissario europea Rehn
sulla rimozione di limitazioni attualmente in vigore che regolano i
licenziamenti di massa . Mr.
Kagioglou ha spiegato che l'Ufficio Internazionale del Lavoro presenterà
presto uno studio in modo che il governo possa considerare le modifiche che sono necessarie .
The Deputy Minister admitted that
change was needed, since the current economic climate has allowed
employers to take advantage of the current bankruptcy code. Mrs. Bolari
responded that thanks to the bankruptcy code many employees were unable
to claim their slashed compensation packages and apply for unemployment
benefit. The SYRIZA MP further explained that the “exceptional
circumstances” cited by the deputy minister only apply to employees who
had been paying their contributions for years. Mrs. Bolari predicted
that the deregulation would primarily suit bankers and the capital
industry.

Vice Ministro ha ammesso che il cambiamento era necessario , dal
momento che l'attuale clima economico ha permesso di datori di lavoro di
sfruttare il codice fallimentare in corso. La
signora Bolari ha risposto che grazie al codice fallimentare molti
dipendenti non sono stati in grado di rivendicare i loro pacchetti di
compensazione tagliati e l'indennità di disoccupazione .
La
Syriza MP ha inoltre spiegato che le "circostanze eccezionali" citate
dal vice ministro si applicano solo ai dipendenti che avevano prestato
il loro contributi per anni. La signora Bolari ha predetto che la deregolamentazione avrebbe principalmente soddisfatto i banchieri e l'industria del capitale .
Sustainability of the insurance system? The SYRIZA MP also
questioned the deputy minister about rumored cuts of main and
supplementary pensions, with Mr. Kegeroglou referring to recent comments
of the Labor Minister Vroutsis confirming that main pensions will be
untouched. He did however noted that there is always the “sustainability
of the insurance system” to consider.
La sostenibilità del sistema di assicurazione ? La
Syriza MP ha anche interrogato il vice ministro circa i tagli di cui si vocifera alle pensioni principali e di previdenza complementare , con il signor Kegeroglou in
riferimento a recenti dichiarazioni del ministro del Lavoro Vroutsis
che ha confermato che le pensioni principali resteranno intatte . Egli ha tuttavia sottolineato che c'è sempre la " sostenibilità del sistema assicurativo" da considerare.
